Admin (Internship)
You might fit this role if:
- You have 0-2 years’ experience in the industry
- You’re a high school or college student
- You need a flexible schedule with onsite and remote options
- You’re interested in a career in financial services
You’d be in charge of:
- Paperwork – scanning, faxing, uploading, prepping forms for signature
- Office care – phones, mail, seating/greeting clients, cleaning conference rooms
- Company materials – organizing mailers, assembling client kits, prepping policies for delivery, gathering event materials
Skills you’d develop:
- General understanding of what goes into a holistic financial plan
- Time management, organization, and prioritization
- Collaboration and effective note-taking
- Customer service – how to wow clients and handle difficult situations
- General office etiquette and professionalism
Client Service (Data Specialist)
You might fit this role if:
- You have 0 – 3 years’ experience
- You are done with school and ready to start your career
- You have an interest in getting your securities license and getting hands-on experience with what all goes into a financial plan
You’d be in charge of:
- Completing client investment summaries
- Updating insurance info
- Researching product riders and features
- Prepping applications and paperwork
Skills you’d develop:
- Deeper understanding of how investments and insurance work together in a financial plan
- Appreciation for riders and product features that impact people’s plans and lives
- Understanding of industry rules and how to conduct business ethically and within compliance regulations
- Attention to detail – one checkbox can change a client’s portfolio!
Paraplanner
You might fit this role if:
- You have 1 – 4 years’ experience
- You have your Series 7 & 66 licenses as well as your life & health licenses
- You want to gain experience and confidence to be able to help people yourself as an advisor
You’d be in charge of:
- Meetings – note-taking, communicating and collaborating with operations team for follow up
- Client service – trades, RMDs, client update calls, scheduling reviews, troubleshooting issues
- Quoting, illustrations, drafting retirement income plans
Skills you’d develop:
- Client communication – explaining complex issues simply and clearly
- Troubleshooting – how to handle roadblocks and discover solutions
- Cashflow and taxes – understanding tax brackets and tax events. It’s not about what you make – it’s what you keep!
- Estate & legacy planning – how to use legal documents to secure and enhance clients’ plans
- Risk management – how to help clients secure their needs and retire with confidence
- Retirement income planning – learn how to take what clients want and need, and turn it into a plan they can use to get there
Service Advisor (Plan Maintenance)
You might fit this role if:
- You have 4+ years’ experience
- You have your Series 7 & 66 licenses as well as your life & health licenses
- You get fulfillment from being trusted by clients and your team
- You are confident meeting with clients yourself and telling clients what they need to hear to keep their plan on track
- You love to stay in tune with industry trends and changes and finding the opportunity in them that will help clients
You’d be in charge of:
- Client Meetings – annual reviews, offering insight and advice to clients
- Plan execution / maintenance – implementing client plans, following through on paperwork needed, scheduling reviews to keep plan updated, accurate, and appropriate
- Client experience – running appreciation events, recognizing life milestones, updating client plans to adjust for life events
- Referrals and cross-selling – recognizing opportunities and following up
Skills you’d develop:
- Asking for and following up with referrals
- Relationship development – gaining and maintaining clients’ trust
- Sales – encouraging clients to take the next step
- Recognizing opportunities to help clients and do more business
- Presenting and public speaking – hosting educational seminars and events
- The advisor’s toolbox – using planning tools like Life insurance, LTC insurance, Social Security, Medicare to optimize solutions for clients
- Holistic financial, generational planning – how to create and maintain solutions that carry on for generations
Lead Advisor (Plan Development)
You might fit this role if:
- You have 7+ years’ experience
- You have your Series 7 & 66 licenses, insurance licenses, and your CFP or RICP designation
- You love to help people solve problems
- You love new challenges & meeting new people
You’d be in charge of:
- Sales & new relationships – networking, nurturing COIs, running prospecting events and marketing efforts
- Plan creation – analyzing client needs and creating solutions, assisting with major plan updates
- Client Meetings – engaging and nurturing prospects, scheduling implementation meetings, running Family Meetings and initiating connections with family members
- Referrals and cross-selling – recognizing opportunities and following up
Skills you’d develop:
- Leadership – mentoring and training other advisors and team members to be intuitive and effective to continue their growth
- Gaining new leads and nurturing prospects into clients
- Developing relationships with centers of influence like CPAs, Attorneys, specialized agents, and more
- Plan implementation and prioritization – where to start with clients and how to take care of the biggest problems first
- Complex planning – Charitable trusts, alternative investments, business planning, and more
- Leadership – mentoring and training other advisors and team members to be intuitive and effective to continue their growth
Practicing Partner (Rainmaker)
You might fit this role if:
- You have 10+ years’ experience
- You have your Series 7 & 66 licenses, CFP or RICP designation, and your life and health licenses
- You hate details, paperwork, and all things administrative
- You love strategic thinking and solving big problems
- You’re always thinking of the next step towards growth
You’d be in charge of:
- Developing key relationships – HNW clients, prospects, COIs, partners
- New opportunities – attending educational events, vetting new products and services
- Referrals and cross-selling – recognizing opportunities and following up
Skills you’d develop:
- Visionary – seeing the high level opportunities and directing the firm on the right path
- Team building – how to inspire the team to see the value in new ideas and instill desire and excitement for excellence
- New products and services – how to vet and implement new offerings to clients
- Collaboration – Complex problem solving and joint work with other professionals
- Creating pipelines – how to bring new interest, leads, and brand awareness to the firm
